Spring Fest will be online this year. Ranking the first among foundation universities with its online education and live classroom practices conducted during the COVID-19 global pandemic, Maltepe University has not forgotten the traditional spring fest held before finals every year. "Turkey’s first online fest" will motivate students with online concerts that will last two days.
Achieving the first rank among foundation universities in The Council of Higher Education’s (CoHE) performance evaluation analysis for distance education during the global pandemic period, Maltepe University does not let its academic success alone. Maltepe University has organized than 100 cultural events during the distance education phase and is going to have this year’s traditional Spring Fest, which is usually held before the finals, online.
The fest, named “Kampus Fest10line” that will last two days, includes self-improvement programs and concerts. Popular young musicians Oğuzhan Koç and Simge will perform for the students. The concerts will be broadcasted from the university’s Instagram page and YouTube channel live.

The Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Betül Çotuksöken states that they have been hosting fests, spring fests and concerts in their university which has one of the largest campuses in Turkey and will not break the tradition this year. Stating that Maltepe University, the meeting point for thousands of students in the spring fest every year, is ready to motivate its students in the time of global pandemic, Çotuksöken added “Our university’s technical equipment for both academic and cultural events is top-level. Aside from our lectures, we continue our cultural events nonstop. We give importance to our extracurricular education, too. To this day, we have had nearly 100 online cultural events. Several of these events take place every day on a regular basis. We work cooperatively with our students, and especially our student council.”
Within the scope of the Fest, Oğuzhan Koç will meet students on May 11, 2020 Monday at 21:30 and Simge on May 12, 2020 Tuesday at 21:30, with their concerts which will be aired online from university’s social media accounts. All events during the fest will be aired from university's social media accounts.
